Made from Reynolds 853/725, this frame was fillet brazed by Rob Stowe of Stowe Cycles in Rochester, NY. The bike was the 23rd frame produced by Stowe in 1998 and features Breezer rear dropouts and an Everest front derailleur hanger.
Local artisan Rob Stowe built frames for Serotta, Quintana Roo, Pig Iron, and Terry Bicycles before starting his shop. According to a listing from Bicycling Magazine’s custom frame builders issue in 1995, Stowe had built over 4000 frames, specializing in road bikes, and had 14 years of experience. “Stowe consists of one person, one hound dog named Fred, and more than $100,000 of precision equipment.”
