More Women on Bikes: Ride With the Shickluna Women’s Devo Project

Are you looking for a fun, motivating way to stay active? Something that gets you outside, challenges you a bit, and feels a lot better than another gym session. Come ride with us. The Shickluna Women’s Devo Project is a women-focused cycling group for female athletes who want their rides to feel purposeful, social, and genuinely enjoyable.

This is about riding bikes, building fitness naturally, and sharing the work with other women who like to move their bodies and try hard things. Some days are smooth, some days are tough, but they’re always better together.

If you’ve been craving a reason to get out the door and move in a way that feels energizing instead of obligatory, this might be exactly what you’re looking for.

Who This Is For

This group is for female athletes with an existing fitness base who want to ride with intention. We’re not starting from zero, we’re building strength, confidence, and consistency together.

The focus this season is on strong, steady riding, building fitness, and having fun doing it without overcomplicating things. We want to ride well, push ourselves, and enjoy the work together.

If you’re a runner, gym regular, triathlete, or cyclist looking for a motivating way to stay active outside, you’ll fit right in.

What It’s Like to Ride With Us

Our rides are steady, purposeful, and collaborative. Throughout the season we typically ride at a 17–20 mph pace, working together in a rotating paceline so everyone shares the effort. Early season routes begin around 30 miles, gradually building in distance and strength as the season progresses.

A big part of what we do is helping riders learn how to move confidently within a group. We focus on safe, predictable riding and developing strong paceline and group riding skills so everyone understands how the group flows and works together on the road. Whether you’re newer to riding in a paceline or looking to sharpen your skills, there’s always something to learn.

Most importantly, we ride as a team. We wait for flats, encourage each other through tough efforts, and celebrate the small wins along the way. Strong riding is the goal, but the supportive atmosphere is what keeps women coming back.

What to Expect This Season

Rides begin in the spring and blend focused riding with skill-building and fitness gains that happen naturally over time. Dates and routes will be shared as the season approaches through our newsletter and Strava Club.

Training & Social Rides

We’ll continue the format we introduced in our second season: a schedule that balances focused training with fun, adventurous riding.

Each circuit looks like this:

Weeks 1–3: Training Focus
Three consecutive weeks of structured training rides built around a specific skill. Focus areas may include:

  • Increasing sustainable pace
  • Sprinting and power efforts
  • Climbing and strength
  • Group riding efficiency and confidence

These rides are purposeful, challenging, and designed to help you make noticeable progress while working together as a group.

Week 4: Adventure Rides
We mix it up with adventure rides. These are about exploring new roads, enjoying the scenery, and putting your fitness to use, with a planned coffee stop because, of course.

Week 5: Off Week
The fifth week is intentionally unscheduled. We encourage you to rest, recover, or create your own adventure, solo or with friends, before jumping back into the next training cycle refreshed.

This format keeps things engaging, sustainable, and fun while still allowing space for real progress.

Why We Ride This Way

Because movement should feel good, physically and mentally.

The Devo Project is about showing up, riding consistently, and enjoying the process. There’s no pressure to be perfect. Progress happens when we ride together, support each other, and have fun along the way.

More Than Just a Ride

This isn’t a show-up-once-and-disappear kind of group.

Our riders come from diverse athletic backgrounds, but what they share is a love of being active and a willingness to encourage one another. Riding with other women creates a uniquely supportive environment where riders can build confidence, learn new skills, and push themselves without pressure or ego.

The group dynamic makes the hard parts easier and the good parts even better.
